Review of Learning Technologies 2016

This year’s Learning Technologies trade show has gone down a treat with us and those we spoke to at the show; a fantastic turnout of over 250 exhibitors and 7,500 visitors. Olive Group’s CEO Brendan Kavanagh delivered a stand out talk dispelling the myths and misconceptions surrounding the use of interactive video in elearning and dropping some astonishing figures about the benefits of bitesize video content in online training. Did you know that 1 minute of video is worth 1.8 million words when it comes to learner retention rates? Well Brendan and the team here at Olive Group do and now, so do the 100+ guests who attended the seminar on Wednesday.

LT16 surpassed all expectations this year with a packed show and plenty of innovation coming from all corners over the two day event. Video based contentwas in high demand as the need for more engaging and cost efficient training rises. Visitors were welcome to test out and demo our multi-device LMS, bitesize learning videos and gamification examples.

Immersive learning was a big draw for Olive Group this year. Our VR team had a never-ending queue of visitors wanting to have a go on the platform and see how transformative this technology is proving in the L&D sector. It was also great to see a number of other stands also with a dedicated space for virtual reality, augmented reality and through Oculus Rift, Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear headsets.

We ran a competition on the day to win a free induction course for your company’s staff training programme. We will announce the winner of this great prize next week so keep your excitement in check for just a little longer!
